Different Methods and Procedures of Water Treatment
The purity of water comes from the compounds of strong bonds among hydrogen and oxygen atoms. There are many other particles that can be easily found in water such as organic particles, chemicals, minerals and some of the pollutants. It cannot be drunk directly since it has bacteria, viruses, and some of the other disease-causing agents. With technology getting involved in water treatment procedures, it has offered water supply that is safe enough to drink. There are many methods of water treatment procedure operation on a larger scale in industries which treats water for human consumption.
Here’s a list of some of the standard processes of water treatment carried in industries.
Flocculation
It involves adding aluminum sulfate in liquid state with polymer. It results in making dirt particles to stick together. It then gets converted to larger particles that are removed later through methods of filtration.
Sedimentation
In this the water is made to undergo water treatment procedure in the sedimentation basins. It involves making water move slowly, with the heavy particles settling down at the bottom in the form of sludge.
The methods and procedures vary as per different locations, plant’s technology and the type of water they are involving in the procedure.
